We have done configuration to utilize item-level Sales BOM. Header level item category is properly derived as TAP, and item level is derived as TAN. We have example material ZHEADER1 setup to explode into ZITEM1 and ZITEM2. When we enter ZHEADER1 for 1EA on sales order, ZITEM1 and ZITEM2 are created with 2EA. I debugged and found that standard SAP is setting VBAP-KWMENG equal to (VBAP-KWMENG + VBEP-CMENG). Normally when this code is called, VBAP-KWMENG is empty. When items are being constructed through BOM explosion, however, it seems that VBAP-KWMENG is already populated. As a result, we are getting 1EA+1EA = 2EA when in actuality correct component is just 1EA. Is there a master data or configuration change to correct this without requiring additional ABAP?
